Default 1982 Marathon lose of power

I have a 1982 Marathon gas, been reading a lot of threads. To start with my son was driving the cart and hit and old stump and uprooted it, got high centered came off it and knocked the belt off.( I am a mechanic by trade ) I went and helped get the belt back on and drove it the quarter mile back to the house. Every sense that happened it has been slow, it still starts fine, seems to be down on rpm, took the bed off and jacked it up to watch the clutches, drive clutch was not working well so I got a new one installed it, not much change. My next step is to do a compression check, Oh by the way I replaced the engine about 1 year ago with a used engine I rebuilt, but with both the old engine and the new engine, with the new clutch and the old clutch it has more power in reverse than forward. Any help would be great. Thanks Jim

Do the Comp test... and be ready for a rebuild... "With crank seals included"

Compression around 130 and crank seals are new and not leaking, I think I may have figured it out, the driven clutch may have been worn enough that the stump slightly bent it. I ordered a new clutch because it has a lot of wear on it and I think the bushing is shoot, I have no idea how many hours the clutch has on it. We use it to hall hay bails, (1 or 2 at a time) hunt, and check property, so it gets lots of use. Plus prior to my son running over the stump the driven clutch rattled alot now it does not. Hope this is the problem. Thanks for the help will keep you posted.

Cool!! A new clutch in place of a old bent one is better any day of the week
