Default Get Springs Out Of Front Fork on 3 Wheeler

The front shocks springs in my front fork of my 3 wheeler broke off up inside the fork. Anyone have any good ideas on how I can get them out? I tried grinding a groove in a piece of rebar to make a L shape to try to hook on to the spring and pull them out but I think I need some kind of slide hammer to yank them out. I have replacement springs and shocks ready to mount to the wheel once these get out so there's no point in being nice to them. I've given it a couple of good attempts to extract them but they're still stuck. Anyone ever had any experience with this and, if so, how did you get them out?

I think the springs are threaded in to adjust the heights of each slider. I'm going to try to figure out some way to unthread them. Hopefully I can figure something out.

We got the broken springs out. The springs DO unthread out of the forks. We shaved down a square rod and hammered it up inside the springs and it was able to grip the springs enough to allow them to unthread. After the new shocks and springs were in, we took it for a drive with close to 900 pounds of people in it and the cart drove great.

Here's a video of the spring coming out.
