Default 1996 48V DS Charger issue.

I have a 96 DS without a charger. I bought a Lestronics II model 09695 48V charger commonly used for Taylor Dunns and Cushmans. The Lestronics was only ten dollars at a swap meet. I spoke to Lester Electric because I am afraid the electronic timer may be bad. When speaking with them they told me that I would have to make modifications to my Club Car for the charger to work. Something about bypassing the onboard controller. Can anyone help me with what modifications I may need to make? The timer circuit board has a burnt spot and will not activate the relay on the charger but I was informed by Lester that I needed to have at least 35 volts hooked to the charger for the timer to activate. So I am working on that so I can check the timer. If bad I was going to install a manual timer on the charger. Any advice on that also? If not why?

If the charger already has an electronic timer in it there is no need to bypass the OBC. If the timer is bad, I woould go bck to an electronic timer, yes expensive, but worth every penny.
