ezgo electric issues
I am new to this golf cart stuff and have had about 20 thrown at me. the ezgo carts seem to be the biggest problem.they are about 1998/2000 carts and one has me baffled.it started beeping while driving and then would just stop.after a key reset it would travel a few feet and do it again.i have since let someone work on it and now it wont run at all.where do i start.
btw..i am an electrican with control wiring experience so throw it at me |

Are they Series, PDS, or DCS carts?

Re: ezgo electric issues
The last 2 numbers of the manufactures code is the year, located inside the passenger side glove box, the 2004 and newer ezgos don't have a serial number plate in the box, they have a serial number sticker under the rear access panel behind the seat, and then on the driver's side frame rail below the floor board.
DCS will have a F&R lever behind the driver's knee and a run/tow switch on the environmental cover on the controller. The backside of the f&R looks round like a hockey puck. PDS carts will have a Tow/Run switch with toggle switch for F&R on the dash SERIES carts will have a shift lever like the dcs cart down by your legs, but it will NOT have a tow/run switch. Also the actual F&R switch is in the corner by the controller and there is linkage from it to the lever in the center..... |

Re: ezgo electric issues
....Of course, they are DCS
DCS was a failed system, PDS was the solution. DCS was only produced for a few years before being replaced by PDS. The DCS controllers tend to self-destruct in low voltage situations ... |

Re: ezgo electric issues
My 1996 dcs is doing this exact thing right now! I am hoping someone can shed some light on this. Brian

Re: ezgo electric issues
lmao.... can i join the fun?
Seriously, I won't even work on a DCS cart unless the customer agrees to me converting the entire system to a series car (which isn't cheap). When Scotty said it was a failed system, he was understating it bigtime...... |
