Default 1974 harley

i have a 1974 harley gasser. the carb seems to be leaking when i shut it off, gas is comming out of the throtle shaft on the bottom . my question is , is there a seal on the shaft or what? shaft seems to be loose in the carb. is the carb junk?

Sounds more like the pump is leaking and needs new gaskets (diaphragms) The throttle shaft is probably worn some but it can be replaced. It shouldn't be much of a problem unless it is badly worn.
