ok, I checked back to key. I lost voltage between key and solenoid.traced back from key and found wire into inside of casing underneath cart.I now have voltage from B- to both small solenoids and both large ones.I replaced solenoid as the old one was, but to me it looks upside down.Could this be a problem?

I don't understand what you mean by "it looks upside down" but it sounds like you have made some progress if you now have 36 volts on both small terminals of the solenoid. At this point you should go back and redo the test you performed earlier on all of the pins of the 10 position plug. You should make these measurements with the plug connected to the controller.

Pin 1 Throttle signal, varies with throttle position from about 0.5v to 1.5v
Pin 2 Throttle excitation, about 14 volts
Pin 3 Reverse Horn, 36 volts in FWD, 0 volts in REV
Pin 4 Half-speed reverse command input, 0v in FWD, 36v in REV
Pin 5 Pedal switch, 36v when pedal is depressed, otherwise 0v.
Pin 6 Key switch, 36v with key on, 0v when key off.
Pin 7 Solenoid driver, normally 36v, goes to 0v to engage the solenoid.
Pin 8 Not used
Pins 9 & 10 both 36v

I have voltage to all of them except 1, 2, and 3. All three go back to the pedal box, though the red wire from the pedal box has voltage (but it was only 16 volts).

You had the connector attached to the controller when you were making those measurements, correct?

In that case it looks like you have a bad controller since you do not have the throttle excitation voltage of 14 volts on pin 2. Without the voltage on pin 2, you will not see a throttle signal on pin 1. Note that pin three does not go back to the pedal box, it goes to the reverse buzzer. The red wire going into the pedal box supplies 36 volts to the pedal switch which leads to a green wire on pin 5 of the controller. You indicated that pin 5 was testing OK.

If the Solenoid is still not activating check the red wire inside the wiring harness. There is a splice/connection from the factory inside the main harness in front of the first battery(Front/Right)that fails. I believe its tying the red to orange going to F/R switch.

I removed splice and twisted wires together. I now have voltage to #3 pin but still do not have 1 or 2.I have voltage leaving pedal switch on red and green but nothing on blk and white which go to pin 1 and 2.
