Default Electric DS head lights not working

Last night when I went to turn on the lights I got a pop and the headlights and tail lights are not lighting up when the switch in the dash is pulled. The brake lights do still work.

The lights were installed in the cart from the factory/dealer when we bought it originally, the bulbs look good, it's doubtful that all 4 bulbs are bad at the same time, considering the brake lights still work.

Couldn't see a fuse block, is there a fuse for the lights, if not then it's possible the light switch is bad?

Most of the wire diagrams don't show anything for headlights that I found here.

Any help appreciated a black cart at night is difficult to see!

Thanks

Almost all DS light kits were aftermarket add-on, even if that add-on was done by the dealer you bought it from. Most of the kits I've seen have the headlight & tail lights on one fuse, brake lights (+ turn signal & horn if it's got them) on a second fuse. Quite possibly just in line fuses along the wiring. If you've got a voltage reducer, probably close after that.

I'm sure the dealer put them in as it was part of the original order.

Any idea where that fuse might be located, I don't see one under the seat area, or under the frame, the wires are in a bundle with covering, perhaps behind the dash...

Mine was located under the seat, right in front of the middle two batteries.

Perfect!

So there is a main fuse block, I was looking for an inline fuse,

Now I need to pull the two nuts and cover off to see what fuse I need

Thanks, I wasn't sure about pulling the top off that but it makes sense.

Now to do it without frying something else!

If you have that fuse box, then like me you probably have the factory voltage reduce on the passenger side frame rail near the controller.

If so, you may want to get a 48v to 12v reducer, because that factor reducer uses two batteries to power your lights and over time can cause some issues with those two batteries.

I bought a 48v to 12v reducer with a key switch wire that will mount right in the spot that the factory reducer mounts. Then I run the + and - wires to a fuse box with a negative buss bar to run my lights off of. This way in the future if you wanted to add a light bar or fog lights or radio or whatever, it's much easier just to wire them to the fuse box.
