Default charger prolem maybe?

i have an 08 ezgo with 2010 battiers and a textron charger that came with the cart. the indicator light instuctions say slow blink 80% or above, fast blink below 80%, if solid green full charge, if it blinks red a charging fault occured. here lately the charger never gets to full charge but it gets to slow blinking which is 80% or above. if i leave the cart on charge 24-7 the charger blinks red but if i charge for 10 to 12 hours the charger blinks green slowly which means batteries should be 80% or better. when i first got the cart i could leave it on charge and the charger would be solid green until i used the cart.

Have you checked the voltage on the battery pack and each battery seperately?

I'm far from an expert, but that seems the place to start. The red light after 24 hrs only means that the pack did not charge in the required time.

I am attaching the owners manual for a RXV on the chance that this is your cart. It explains a with a little more detail on the charger.

Could just be a bad battery - keeping my fingers crossed.

JohnnieB will likely chime in a solve this problem as he is the resident expert.

Sounds like I am off base with the charger. As the instructions in the manual are for a Powerwise QE.

You are apparently calling the "Long" blink "Slow" and the "Short" blink "Fast". That threw me for a loop at fist, but I see that is a way it could be described.

I suspect you have a Powerwise QE charger.
Which is a non-repairable (throwaway) charger.
When it fails, get something else. I used a DPI.

First, check the electrolyte levels in the cells.
Here is the proper level: http://www.trojanbattery.com/Battery...ngDiagram.aspx
Use distilled water only and do not over fill.

What is the battery pack voltage when LED is flashing slowly? (Long flash)
80% State of Charge is 37.50V for a 36V battery pack.

Let us know what you find.

the batteries are 80 plus on charge and i found that the plug in on the cart had some corrison on it and i cleaned it up and the charger charged until the light stayed green. i think that was my problem i have watched the battery terminals but forgot about the plug in connection. hot rod

It is always the little things that sneak up and bite you.

Glad to hear you found the problem.
