Always check your U bolts on your lifted CC sparkies!

As for the 4 U-Bolt setup, I have heard that other members have been able to successfully purchase the Allsports rear lift - which has the 4 U-Bolt setup - from Tom at Carts Parts Plus (site sponsor)
WOW!!!

I wonder if I should call AllSports tomorrow and see if I can get some U-bolts made of tempered steel so they won't stretch (or at least stretch as much) as the ones that came with their lift kit. When those brakes locked up, it scared the you know what out of me! I'd like to make sure it doesn't happen again (or at least for a very long time)!

I'm going to let you in on a little secret. The Allsports lift you have it not an actual Allsports lift. It is a cheap lift that is made by one company and is sold under many names. Your best bet would be contacting Tom at CPP. He should be able to hook you up

Thanks. I'll ask for Tom at CPP. Just looked at their site and it is pretty helpful. They have a fairly wide variety of parts.

And here I thought I was the only one having a weird feeling of deja vu

Glad you got the issue tracked down.

AllSports is shipping me the 4 U-bolt setup for my rear lift. It is the same setup that they have for their Long Travel and Super Sport lift kits. Heavier duty than what I have now. It should help with any future recurrence of axle twist and locking brakes (as long as I keep those U-bolts tight!)

I went from the diagonal 1 bolt per side to the 2 bolts per side and it got rid of the axle twist

This thread has me a little worried. As of now, everything is fine and no axle twist or brake lockup. If I check the U-bolts once a month for the first six months or so, I should be ok right?

As long as you check them every once in a while, (especially within the first two years of installing a lift) you should be good Jake!
