Multi-Step Pot (V-glide) Resistor Values?
I just got my 93 all put together with Scotty's package #444 on 48 volts. I am very impressed with it from the limited time I've had to run it. Endless bottom end and it does pretty good up top for a series cart. I have one complaint and that is now my throttle is kind of harsh as it engages. It is smooth from there on, just a little harsh at first and the slowest speed is just a tad fast.
I have the 0-5K multi-step pot, and I did verify that it puts out 0-5.05K ohms with my DMM. I was wondering if anyone knew the resistor values for each step? I could mess around with varying resistance and get my throttle engaging smoother if I had a reference point to start from. Any suggestions on what particular resistors (1/2 watt????) would be appreciated also. Thanks! |

Re: Multi-Step Pot (V-glide) Resistor Values?
1st step- 910 ohms
2nd step- 620 ohms 3rd step- 750 ohms 4th step- 820 ohms 5th step- 1100 ohms (per a diagram from crash test dummy) P.S. That was for a 36v. cart. I've seen a different sequence for 48v. carts but didn't copy it. If I remember right, the 48v. started much lower (3xx ohms). OK, Found it for 48 volts 300 ohms 390 ohms 750 ohms 1000 ohms 2200 ohms . Last edited by tag50; 06-02-2015 at 11:07 PM.. Reason: P.S. |

Re: Multi-Step Pot (V-glide) Resistor Values?
Thanks! Might try switching 1 and 2 resistors for a lower first value to see what that does.

How did the swap work out? I'm wondering if I need a set of resistors when I make the final leap.

I don't know yet. The controller is in FSIP's possession again. I was having a power draw issue and narrowed it down to the controller. I think the harshness may have been caused by whatever is wrong with the controller, but I will know more when I get it back fixed.

Re: Multi-Step Pot (V-glide) Resistor Values?
Club Car offers a resistor package that includes all of the resistors for a 48V V-Glide. It may be worth changing them out if you don't get the results you want when you get the controller back.

OK, you're not Paul Harvey, but what's the rest of the story? I'm wondering if need a set of resistors on hand when I go to 48 volts.

Re: Multi-Step Pot (V-glide) Resistor Values?
The rest of the story is that I have an awesome yellow cart plugged into a DPI collecting dust waiting for me to finish it. Thinking resistors might do the trick to smooth it out, but will have to catch a break from work to find out - lately I've been working 11 and 12 hour days which doesn't leave much time for carts.
