It won't hurt anything if you remove it. Just make sure you do the proper by pass.

there is no reason to keep if your going to get a 48 volt to 12 volt reducer

Ok, just to recap. I can completely remove the OBC since I have it bypassed anyways. So, I can just cut and remove the wires coming out of it?

well I left mine in just in case i sold it and wanted to keep my DPI charger and just in case I ever needed to use a stock charger again it would be easy to switch it back.
