Default ez go 2005 txt power issue

My cart with full charge will cut out and seem to be dead then after waiting less than a minute it will go again at full power. This repeats itself all day. I had seen somewhere something about thermal shut down whatever that is. any ideas. thanks.

Stock control and solenoid?

Typically controller thermal shut-down takes more than 1 minute to cool and reset just because the aluminum base plate can't change temp that fast without an outside source of cool moving air.

If you're lucky it might be the solenoid?

Is the solenoid getting hot to touch? Not warm, but hot?

You will have to take the environmental cover off to test.

Hot! not warm. All battery cables stay cool but solenoid and cables to controller get very hot. This happens mostly when running at a very slow speed.

You can try a bigger solenoid and that might fix it for now but as you can see... there is too much heat and that will eventually take out the control and motor.

A proper electronic upgrade would include a 2-400a solenoid/ 4-500a controller. 10 pc 2g cable set, a rewound or aftermarket motor.

This cart will always produce much more heat running slow that fast.
