I too have a 1997 TXT DCS with an upgraded motor (goes about 20MPH), 400 AMP Alltrax NPX controller and heavy duty solenoid. I also have a BLS-36 (Battery life saver) connected to it.
My concern is I have a burning smell coming from the battery department after only a bit of driving the cart that worries me. I have rear seats and drive my kids around a little hilly golf course.
What should i be looking for to correct it or do I need to add something to my set up? Any help is appreciated.

BTW, I am completely new to this and have no experience.

Welcome to BGW !

You are hijacking this thread but, DCS owners everywhere need to know... The NPX line of Alltrax controllers was engineered and produced as a stock cart controller replacement only. They even went so far as to post warnings on their website stasting that if the cart has a rear seat or big wheels or aftermarket motor or operated on hilly terrain that the controller would fail. The AXE line of controllers is a better match for your cart.

Lots of people bought the NPX because it was less expensive but when you tally up the cost of a replacement ~ well..... You know.

Please start a new thread for more info, Scottyb

That's awesome information, thanks. I was looking at that speed controller too.... Guess not now.
