It's WAYYYY easier than a DS because there's no splines for it to seize to. Lots of DS cars require a steering wheel puller (BLAH) Precedent cars are EASY as long as you know how to work on them, and this is one of those examples of simplicity!
Whats funny David is the 95 DS wheel that I don't think has ever been removed was pretty easy! I sprayed it with PB Blaster and let it sit. Took the nut off and put a 2X4 on the steering column aginst the back of the wheel. 2-3 raps with a big hammer and it flew off. My 08 precedent was a b*$%@ (well, until I knew how to do it) !

You got lucky. I've encountered LOTS of DS cars that I couldn't even get the wheel off with a puller. It had to be cut off with a bandsaw. Then I had to use an air chisel to get the rest of the wheel off of the splines. It's a PAIN!

The vibration from the hammer against the bolt will break the bond of the wheel against the column shaft. Once it's loose just remove the bolt and pull off the wheel.
