This is the direction I went. I already had a spare deep cycle battery that was laying around in good shape. I bought a batteryminder and just hook it up whenever we arent on the cart.

And how is it holding up so far? That was one of my initial thoughts, but since am new to the cart world thats why am asking for input & thoughts.

That's what I do- I have a 12v accessory battery in the well opposite the controller and run lights, radio, & a lighter/charger.

I think I paid $60 for the battery @ WalMart.

I'm still fairly new too. Holding up good so far. I rarely need to run with the headlights turned on.

I'd imagine that if I ran with headlights on all the time, I could run the 12v battery dead fairly quickly.
