Default Cart won't go up hills

I'm posting this for a friend. He had trouble going up hills. He tested batteries and found two bad ones. So he replaced ALL batteries and still cuts out trying to go up a slight hill. Need some suggestions where to go next.

I will find out more about it tomorrow. I just thought it was a little weird that it would cut out all together going up a hill and be fine on flat ground.

How steep are these hills? Please tell him not to " stall " the cart! It can do severe damage to the motor and the controller ( if it's a controller cart )!

Oh no might be to late for that. His kids were on it this weekend. I'm sure they didn't know better.
