OK, I'll try a new meter. I see some have 2 wires (vs mine likely has 3: +,-,switched). If I get one with 2 wires, would I just hook up the positive lead to the switched wire? Just curious but if that works right why do some have 3 wires? What would be the point in having a 3rd pole for a constant?

Also, how do I get out that meter? I tried thinking there were clips to depress but I can't get anywhere with it. It's now loose but won't come out. I guess I can just rip it out somehow but would like to know what the trick is.

Thanks again.

To get it out correctly you need to take out the switch plate. Meter has a single post with a "C" type bracket that pinches against the back of the plate. Depending on the meter you get, the plate will have to come out anyway so I would wait till the new one comes in before I did anything..

My 2 cents

dawg, if your reading on your batts is 37.5, that is only an 80% charge. check this chart. best way to tell your total charge is to leave the charger on till i shuts down or at least overnight, then wait about 12 hrs. then take a reading. if you go to the cartsunlimited site, he has a great volt meter and optional mounting plate that looks great. he is a sponsor.
