Never owned an electric cart before, I have a chance to buy this beauty, what's it worth? the guy that has it said the batteries are dead, what should I look for if I decide to go check it out?

Re: what's it worth
I couldn't tell you cuz I have a gas. But it has potential. Looks to be in pretty good shape. Perhaps a new seat...the blue is just not doing it for me. I know batteries are very expensive. Try a warehouse store.
I know that electric are quieter. Some days I wish for that. Mike |

Re: what's it worth
in my area in NY marathons when you find em ,can be had for about $200 - $800 needing batteries. resistor carts fall on the lower end. Batteries are $500- $1000 depending upon what brand.
Good luck, it looks clean and has a newer style roof. |

Re: what's it worth
He's asking $650 for the cart, I guess if I can get it for 5 bills or less I might go for it.

Re: what's it worth
Tell him how much paint, seat covers and batteries are gonna cost and offer him 300 just kidding. 4-500 seems fair. he isnt asking a crazy number so you should be ok.

Re: what's it worth
I bought mine, with batteries and no charger for 400. If you are in the 4 to 5 and assuming that the cart doesn't need battery trays, you would be OK. Look under the cart, or pull a couple of batteries and inspect them. Use the new battery angle, and if it needs trays that will help you, make sure you get the charger, and if they throw in the microwave you might be able to kick in a few extra bucks!

Re: what's it worth
I went and checked out the cart today, I offered $300. (without the microwave). he came down to $500. I walked away. The batteries were junk and expanded, the front axel was pushed in on one side and the plastic on a rear fender was busted up. I think the paint job was the best thing about the cart and believe it or not it looks better in person. I think I'll stick with gas carts.

Re: what's it worth
I found another one, what do you think? is it worth buying? guy says the batteries are shot but it worked good last year.
I'm a little leary buying an electric cart, I really don't know what to look for, any ideas? I can throw three 12 volt deep cycle battries in it to see if it moves, other than that I'm at a loss. |
