Electric Motor Dirty!!!
Need a safe way to clean the Electric Motor on my 96 Club Car Ds. Can you just spray away with a hose or is that dangerous?
Thanks again! |

Re: Electric Motor Dirty!!!
do not use a hose and water, u can use electronic contact cleaner it will not harm the armature or brushes, your local home depot, lowes or radio shack should carry it.

I think you can carefully wash the outside with a sponge and soap. I wouldn't squirt it with a hose though.

Re: Electric Motor Dirty!!!
Maybe I didn't understand the question, to clean the outside of the motor when it is still installed in the cart, soap and very small amounts of water will be fine to clean it up, if you are disassembling the motor and want to clean the inside I would use the contact cleaner, also be careful of the armature bearing in the back of the motor case, it doesn't like water or contact cleaner......
