Default What's the best Hydrometer to use?

I'm a newbie here and I'm trying to figure out what the best hydrometer is to use to keep my batteries in good shape. I have a 2010 Club Bar Precedent with Excel drive. Of course, 48 volt with 6X8 volt brand new September 2014 Trojans. Thanks!!Any other advice appreciated. So far I've only charged the batteries three times. Once before first use and then after using the cart for maybe an hour of drive time each of two consecutive days.

I don't think you need one until your batteries are several years old. A good DVM is much more useful. Keep them charged and keep water above the plates by adding distilled water AFTER CHARGING (not before).

Welcome to BGW!

A good hydrometer will be a glass instrument with an internal glass float. Plastic vessels with plastic floats are useless.

Thanks for the answers guys. I already have a volt meter and I'll make sure to go class.

scottyb-I used to race Corvettes but quit a couple years ago. I fly a Boeing 727 for a NASCAR team, Roush-Fenway Racing. Don't actually race planes.
