Positive Volts To the Frame?
I had charged the 08 DS a few weeks ago and have not driven it probably a mile. Took it out for a little ride today and the battery light came a few times. Decided to break out the voltmeter and started checking voltages. Everything checked out good. So, just for grins, I checked voltages on the frame. With black (negative) probe on the negative post, red (positive) on the frame rail, the highest I got was 12.4. I knew that wasn't right, so I checked it on my 03 DS. Same probe setup, and the highest I got was was 28.5! I am pretty sure I shouldn't have any voltage to the frame. Please correct me if I am wrong

Re: Positive Volts To the Frame?
48 V club cars do this pretty regularly in my experience. I think it is something to do with the OEM voltage reducer. In any case, the voltage read usually has very little or no amperage and makes little or no difference in the vehicle operation.

Re: Positive Volts To the Frame?
Frame voltage can do funny things.. Buddies cart has a DCX300 in it and when it senses voltage on the frame it errors out with 2 red lights, too cold. Had it happen the other day. Checked the voltage and 36 on the frame.. Ground strap on the radio and common ground wire. Removed that and voltage dropped to like 20. 2 red lights went away. Hooked it back up and they were back... Batteries are weeping through the case..

Re: Positive Volts To the Frame?
Ok. I don't have the OEM voltage reducer, so I don't know where it is coming from, but if you say it's good, I trust you
