Default Trouble with controller?

I have a DCS cart that ran fine last week but when we went to drive it this week, nothing, no click, nothing. After doing some digging, I am more confused. I can only get the green light on the controller to stay on if the B+ and A2 wires are not connected together at the solenoid. If just the B+ or jut the A2 wires are on then the controller lights up. Also, the controller will light up even with the key off.

I jumped the motor and it would run on 12v so I am thinking I have a wiring problem or controller problem. The trouble is I cannot get the controller to light up when the wires are connected correctly.

Any idea what would cause the contoller to show a green light but shut off if the B+ and A2 wires are connected?

Trying to think through this and the alltrax trouble shooting guide says to use a 500w bulb between the m- and b+ terminals to see if the controller will shut off with the tow switch or key switch. I have tried calling alltrax but what kind of bulb are they talking about 110v or 12v?

Must be 110V. I have never seen a 500W 12B bulb.

thanks, I found a wired light bulb socket at Ace and will give that a try.

I did a test this morning and I have 37v at the B+ terminal off of the controller when it was not connected to the solenoid. I feel like I have something wired bass ackwards but the dang thing ran all weekend before shutting down.

Found this Troubleshooting guide yesterday that helped me isolate the problem:

Ended up being a crushed wire going to the ignition switch.
