Will it fit in existing hole where idiot light is? Can it be wired to key switch?

No, you need to cut a new hole. Anyway the spot where the battery light is doesn't allow for convenient viewing. The steering column gets in the way.

I just bought the same one from eBay. Got it in green, one in blue, and one in red - each available color. Couldn't decide which one I wanted.
