Default 94 EzGo won't move

Bought a project cart today. It's a 94 model EzGo. He stated that he installed "new" batteries and it ran for a while, but stopped reacting to the pedal, all of a sudden. Says it will click, but that's all. Batteries are refurbished ones, and may be no good. Where's the first place to start? This one looks way different under the seat than my 98 TXT Series cart.

Start with a volt meter. I would like to know what the definition of "refurbished" is.

I was wondering about refurbished bateries!!!

I thought you said new batteries.? Are they new of refurbished?

I bet he dumped some of the ebay "battery rejuvinator" in them and called them "refurbished" .

I would almost wonder if the batteries are just weak or bad?

I was just going on what the PO said on the batteries. There are no now brand names on them at all, so who knows how or what they did. I got it going though. Seems to be an issue at the F/R switch, but it has been running fine all weekend. I have a couple of wires that get almost too hot to touch when put under a load on the hill, so it slows to a crawl, but it never stops pulling. I will look at replacing those wires and go from there. Please know guys, this is an older Marathon cart that I bought Saturday to resell, not my TXT that we were working on last month. Lol.

All batteries read @ 6-6.07 volts on the meter in the driveway, I haven't checked them under load yet. I have been trying to check out other items that may need replaced at the same time.

I wondered, I thought, I bet, I dunno? ...... slow down dude

Battery refurbishing is a big industry in America. These facilities wash, rinse, refill and shock usable batteries. They are then charged tested ans recharged before being sold at half the cost of new and you can expect a 30 day warranty and about 2 yrs average life from them. We used them in our cheap refurbs and today I still use them in my shop cart and lawn mower etc.
Typically when a pack is replaced 1 or 3 batteries are still worthy of refurbishing. Honestly all that is done is kept secret.

I post these things because I know.

I heard they explained it in some E-mails to Hillery Clinton. I'm sure we'll find out soon.

My Battery Distributor has a refurb plant they use. Over the years I have pressed my rep for details about the process. What I know is that these batteries can be good or they can be bad. If you know the dealer you can ask they keep an eye out for a good set. They will watch for stuff that is not too old, larger capacity, or sometimes blems that may come from an accident like a spilled pallet
