2007 ezgo series cart jerking then stopping
Hello. I've scrolled through 50 pages and still haven't found any solutions. I've changed or the solenoid and that didn't fix it. My cart keeps jerking when I push the accelerator then it stops. It does this in both directions. I'm wondering if it could possibly be the controller or perhaps the ITS? Cart was running fine until I went to replace the broken charging receptacle and it shorted together for about 10 seconds. I know I forgot to remove the connection from the battery. Thanks in advance.

Hmm well do you shorted it as in you hooked up the charging receptacle the wrong way? It could be the ITS you will need to test the pin on the controller to it. I don't know exactly but it may be the pin with the white wire Just simply changing out the receptacle should not start causing the car to jerk like that. If you damaged the controller they tend to be all or nothing. So your saying the car still moves but it jerks and then stops. So the controller may not be the problem It really sounds like something the motor would do. Did you check out the motor/ test the terminals on the motor??

Re: 2007 ezgo series cart jerking then stopping
If you wan to rule out the controller, carefully disconnect the M- cable on the controller and touch it to the negative on the battery. I would not use the main negative battery as there is a lot of current going through and it may give you a nasty spark. Hold it on the negative and push the pedal slowly. If the car runs when you push the gas pedal your controller is fine. If the car starts running on its own when you touch the M- to the battery your solenoid is welded. So that's an easy way to eliminate your controller

Thank you for the quick reply. I shorted the 2 wires together by accident as I removed the receptacle. I have not checked the motor. I will look into doing both of those. Thank you.

No problem . And remember what I said about the main pack negative battery. It can make you jump when your not expecting a big spark like that. If you need more reach in order to touch the cable to the battery you may have to cut the zip tie at the bottom holding the controller wires together |
