Angry Differential Whine EZGO RXV still exists!

Okay, I've now replaced my input shaft and bearings, rear axle bearings, and changed differential fluid as many have suggested. I still have a significant whining noise. Any suggestions? Should I go deeper into the differential and replace the remaining bearings (4)? Could the breaking system be causing any noise? I just rode in a 2008 RXV and it was whisper quiet. Mine is loud enough that i can't listen to my stereo. Suggestions?

I'm used to AC drives. My AC drive electric car sings at a high frequency (inverter whine) at low speeds but quiets down as I speed up. The AC motor of the RXV does produce some resonances from the AC drive, but it's usually not too loud. As the gears wear, that whine can get louder as it resonates through the gears. It could be bearing noise from the intermediate gear bearings and carrier bearings, but it could also just be due to wear. One of the other guys on this forum was annoyed by the rear end whine of his RXV so much that he replaced the entire rear axle assembly and springs. He transplanted his existing AC motor over to the new axle and he said it solved the whine. He gave me his old rear axle and springs. I found a lot of wear in the gears in that rear end. Still usable though.

You could end up spending more money on replacing internal parts than what a whole new rear end would cost. A dealer can usually give you a better price than you could buy from E-Z-GO for. Dealers get a discount, E-Z-GO direct charges full retail list price.

So far I'm not seeing a lot of wear on the bearings I've replaced. Not being all that familiar with gear wear in a differential, I was wondering how much movement/play you should have when you rotate the rear wheels back and forth before you feel the gear engage.

If you put it up on jack stands and use a stethoscope type thing, I have headphones with a sound amplifier and rod to touch on the various areas.
They're inexpensive at harbor freight.
I only use it about once a year, but it really does work!
