Re: 1990 EZGO Marathon 36v with five 8 volt batteries(40v)
Maybe I was dreaming, or drunk, or both, but I think I saw a STANLEY brand charger that will charge anything from 6 to 48 volts. Worth checking into.

Re: 1990 EZGO Marathon 36v with five 8 volt batteries(40v)
Actually I've had a similar question for a while now. I would like to keep a set of decent batteries around for testing carts. Not just testing a motor, but to actually install and test drive carts. But, that would mean having a dozen, (six 6 volt, and six 8 volt) batteries laying around in my way all the time. Would it hurt to test a 36 volt cart with 5 eight volt batteries?

All you need is 4 12 volt batteries to TEST a 36 volt cart or a 48 volt cart, and you only have 4 batteries sitting around |

I have yet to see one of those Stanley chargers make it past a year and a half. If it seems too good to be true......
