The build has OFFICIALLY STARTED!!

Got home a little early and got started.....

Removed the top and the top struts...

started removing the rear seat.....WHAT A PITA....its not a regular flip seat, its one the very first owner of the cart put on...that was a golf course, its name is embossed into the foot piece. come to find out, all it all looked in great shape, some of the wood had gotten wet over the years, it only had standard short top on it, so it had the opportunity to have been getting rained on....and it did. the cushions (top and bottom) were NOT standard sizes, so to get them recovered wasn't cheap (Already went by and got an estimate) and come to find out, was only $35 more to get a brand new flip seat, so that was a no brainer.

THEN I hear the door bell ring......SANTA CAME!! The Jakes Lift Kit and my HD Rear springs were on the front porch!!

Tomorrow....the rest of the rear seat get removed, then the body is coming off.....then I will be able to see all of the bones of this little girl.

well this didn't goa s planed...but not bad, I didn't get to work on the cart today, HOWEVER, more parts came in, the first of 3 boxes from Scotty

SCOTTYS STUFF.jpg

and the windshield, the rivet set and the Front springs came.....

but I did go and buy my Drum Fan and set it up.....so with a little luck, tomorrow I will get that rear set off and the body as well.

The day started off with more deliveries, wheels/tires, flip up windshield, and fender flares. had to organize the work space a bit and got some of the things that were on top of it put away....then got to it.

it took longer than I thought because of some rusted nuts/bolts....but the funky off brand rear flit seat is off.....and GONE, put it by the curb.

after pulling out the "HEART" it was apparent a new battery tray is in the future, some of the bottom was latterly paper thin.

The wheel/tire combo my nephew picked up will look great when this is done.

Then the back.....

PIC5B.jpg

Then the floor and "firewall"......

PIC6.jpg

Then the controller/solenoid and all the cables, all but the pedal box wires are off.

PIC7.jpg

Tomorrow.....she gets a good cleaning with my pressure washer to knock all the dirt/dust/rust off of her.....then I'll figure that next step for the day...

Great work so far, and excellent job with the photos!

Feel free to take the day off tomorrow, unless you just can't resist...

Thanks Jake.....but I took the day off yesterday with our family function....and the wife, daughter, and grand daughter are headed out for the day tomorrow (the 4th) so this will give me some extra time with no interruptions at all.

I did have a few issues today, but all it ended up doing was slowed me down a little.....a few severely rusted bolts in hard to get places, like the two large Torx bolts on the front of the battery tray....ended up having to use a grinder on both, and one of the bolts holding the front piece that the F&R hockey puck is attached to.....ended up unbolting the back of the try and praying up on it till the rusted bolt gave it up.....of course I am replacing the battery tray so all I needed was the front piece anyway.....I'll just drill out the remaining stubs tomorrow, not a big deal.

Yeah my grandparents have a '97 TXT and a couple years ago I replaced their battery rack. I had to grinder off those same two torx bolts as well.
