Great info BobBoyce -- I'm an Engineer as well and new to the GolfCart World. We bought a used RXV and I'm dealing with the suspension issues. Your write up above explains everything, all about the bottom dollar, and if you want it done right you have to do it yourself!! I just changed out the single kingpin and bushings on the A-arm and was shocked how sloppy the new EZGO parts were....now I know why!

Bob nice info 👍
Pgold to be sure stock lug nuts have a taper designed for stock wheels. If you changed to aftermarket wheels may want to use their lug nuts as taper could be different compared to stock wheels. As Bob explained this could be a case of sae taper compared to rims useing metric taper or vise versa. Tough to measure lug nut to rim taper aside from useing layout dye of felt marker to “paint rim taper along with same on lug nut taper. Torge to spec. Short ride, then remove lug nut.
If you still have dye of marker on tapered portion ( shows it’s not contacting rim or nut) means it was most likely a taper difference between rim and nut.
Found this to be true using aftermarket rims on autos.
Just a thought😊

sounds like an outer wheel bearing, aftermarket wheels are offset more and and previous problem will be exagerated when more weight is put on a bad outer bearing, basicly the more offset the wheel the more work the outer wheel bearing will have to do and if the bearing were bad you will feel/ hear the noies easier, if you jack up the wheel and spin the tire you might not hear the noise without the weight on it
