2000 ezgo txt FNR switch 36v. question:

When my cart is in Forward, all the copper bolts in the cam are connected to bolts in the stationary board. The same is true when the switch is rotated to Reverse, (X cept different contacts.) How does this change polarity on my series wound motor? It is a an 'Advanced ' AU2500 fleet speed with terminals labeled A1, A2, & S1, S2.

By changing the position of two of the leads to the motor, via the F&R SWITCH, the field windings are reversed and will lead to reversal of direction of the motor due to change in direction of magnetic field.

Great diagram for what it conveys. Easy to follow, for those who aren't used to reading schematics, and also only shows the high current circuit.

Natch. I love series buggies. Great for newbies, as it's so simple to troubleshoot, with the exception of intermittent problems, which can plague any cart.
