Default Need tips to remove bushings

Have some bushings that need to replace but are still good enough to be stuck within the parts. Any tips to get them out?

Most of them you can put in a bench vice or press, and place a slightly larger diameter socket on one side, and then a smaller diameter socket or brass rod on the other and the bushing will press into the socket.

You can use a C-clamp also (just a little harder)

Take an older drill bit, about 1/8”, and run to around the outside of the bushing and it will walk right out

'

JACK UP CART AND PLACE ON JACK STANDS FOR ANY WORK!!!

Precedent
is ez..
put jack under axle just enough to release the tension do one side at a time
PB blaster bushings

remove the nuts and pull (or tap) bolt out pry out old rubber and sleeve (all three)
if bolt in front is not coming out ...
soak it with PB plaster and a wait 15 min repeat a few times
still stuck ? your sleeve is stuck on bolt... put an air gun on bolt and spin fast for a few
( i have taped on bolt while spinning )
STILL STUCK ??? sawzall between the frame hanger and leaf springs on bolt head side ....
do not cut out side frame hanger it won't work

Club Car DS
is more work ....
put jack under axle just enough to release the tension do one side at a time
PB blaster bushings

remove the rear lower bushings first... take nut off and pull (or tap) bolt out
pry out old rubber and sleeve
rear upper bushings ... Take nut off ...bolt will not come out !!! (design flaw)
here you have 2 choices
1 pry up body and pull or tap out bolt
2 cut a 2" hole in body under the mat where bot head is ( make sure mat will cover it when you put it back)
see drawing below
number 2 is how do it so i cam put bolt back in easy
if bolt in front is not coming ..
out soak it with PB plaster and a wait 15 min repeat a few times
still stuck ? your sleeve is stuck on bolt... put an air gun on bolt and spin fast for a few
( i have taped on bolt while spinning )
STILL STUCK ??? sawzall between the frame hanger and leaf springs on bolt head side ....
do not cut out side frame hanger it won't work
any questions we will be glad to help

NOTE: make sure you order yor carts bushings as they are different

Luv ya to death buddy, but you might have missed my point... Any and all bushings... And you left off the other part that also said a C-clamp. Remember he didn't say any particular bushing, he just asked for tips to get them off "Have some bushings that need to replace but are still good enough to be stuck within the parts. Any tips to get them out?"

And I have had bushings stuck and used a drill bit or dremel tool on the outer edges and worked them out just as E36 said.... They are just all ideas and/or suggestions to help the OP out.

Now get better and get out of there and we will come race you for bragging rights!

Thanks, guys.

I will give your tips a try. And yes I was talking about all general bushings. Control arm, leaf springs whatever. I just know I have a few that are still with their housings and I want to remove and replace while I have the cart taken apart to refurb.

Sure do. Your site is Revolution? I’ll be looking for parts to spruce up a 09 CC precedent back into standard golf use.

Thanks again for the quick responses on my last view post. Appreciate it.

I have an '09 Precedent. I already upgraded my rear leaf springs to HD, put in new shocks, but I need to replace my upper leaf spring hanger bushing. There is not enough room to slide the bolt out or a new one back in. Looking at "crash test dummy" drawing, it's bolt #14 and bushing sleeve #16 and bushings #4. Do I have to drill an access hole in the plastic surrounding? Or, do I have to take off the body which seems kind of extreme just to get out one bolt.
