Going with 20 inch tire. Good idea?
Narrowing it down between a new 2018 vs a Demo 2017 AC electric Yamaha. The 2018 comes with the std 18 inch tire. The 2017 he says he can put on 20 inch tires with 12 inch rims.
I’m assuming that extra 2 inches would get me more speed and distance per charge as a revolution of wheel covers more ground now. I’m I thinking this one right? |

Re: Going with 20 inch tire. Good idea?
Seems like he could put a 20" tire on the '18 model also. I see late model Yamahas around my area all the time with 20" tires. (not lifted)
I am familiar with EZGO's version of an AC motored cart. Similar to the Yamaha, it can be set to the max "legal" speed of 19.6 mph. With 20" tires on the cart and NOTHING else it is a 22-23 mph cart. I would expect the same performance with the Yamaha. (on paper, the AC Yamaha is even more powerful the the AC EZGO) |

Re: Going with 20 inch tire. Good idea?
Yamaha 2007 to 2019 models have a lot of wheel opening space. PTV models have 10" rims with 20" tall tires and there is still room left. The AC model with the Toshiba controller is "quick" and has more "torque" then any other electric I have driven. Good luck on your choice.
