charger works on other carts but not mine
Had issues with aluminum fin charger blinking red so I took it to the Golf Cart dealer and it blink red there also so I got one of his used Power Wise charger and had him test it on one of the carts there it worked fine so when I got home I plugged it to my cart (2001 36 volt TXT series no switch at controller box and batteries are one year old) the charger will not come on. I charge all the batteries with my 12 volt charger (two at a time) the cart ran fast like brand new, I plugged in the power wise and still no hum or ammeter movement on charger gauge. Took the charger back to Cart shop and it works there. The problem has to be at the cart, I do get 36 volts at the female receptacle of the cart and each battery shows 6.2 or more. What can I test next, its getting old charging with a 12 volt charger and at 70 years old don't trust myself clamping the jumper cables.

Re: charger works on other carts but not mine
The Ezgo D style receptacle has a tendency to wear out the contacts which results in no contact... like you describe.
To verify this is the problem plug in the charger, then lift and hold up pressure on the plug. If the charger comes on within a minute of holding up steady the contacts are bad. These contacts are replaceable. They are called Rad-Soks and they are not cheap. $15-24 each I have some new old stock if you think you want some & you have paypal contact me at scottyb@cartsunlimited.net I have wedged something under the plug to make the contacst work temporarily |

Re: charger works on other carts but not mine
This morning I took off the top half of the female receptacle to see what happens when the male plug is inserted and with two finger applied pressure at the female connections, i did see the needle give a very very slight wiggle. I will tomorrow disconnect the the main two wires to the batteries then completely take a part the female receptacle. I will report back when this R&R is done, thanks

Re: charger works on other carts but not mine
I remove number one battery cables then remover the female connectors at cart receptacle, I then used a small rat tail file and clean the inter part of the connectors then reinstall everything. Plugged in the charger and everything is working normal now, sometime its the simple stuff that has you going in circles. So these connectors are called Rad-Soks thanks Scottyb.
