What do you consider slow? 13mph is top end for a stock EZGO

Re: 1995 36v ezgo controller
ok.....you most likely won't want to here this.....but with a stock set-up, which is what you have....your cart isn't going to go any faster than what it is now. there is only a few way to make a SERIES cart faster. one thing that you would need to do is to upgrade the controller/solenoid/F&R switch, and all high current cables. That will give you the needed drive system, THEN to up the speed, you would need to do one or 2 of the following.
1. up-grade your battery pack to a 48v set-up...this will give you 30% MORE SPEED and Torque. 2. get a high-speed motor 3. up-grade the rear end with high speed gears. you can see in my sig, I too have a SERIES cart, although its lifted and has taller tires....when I did my upgrades.....I had just bought new batteries, so I stayed at 36v, however, after my upgrade to a 500a controller and the other drive system parts AND the high speed motor....with the 23" tires....was running 25 mph. after 5 years I got a new set of batteries and went to 48v which up'ed my top speed to 30 mph. just like the sign in the speed shop: "SPEED COSTS MONEY....HOW FAST DO YOU WANT TO GO!!" |
