Batteries drain quick
Hello, so I just bought a “needs batteries “ golf cart stripped it down and put new batteries in it on the way back together. Charged it up and can run about 10 minutes and it progressively gets slower till it won’t run, lift the seat and the cables and controller are smoking hot. All batteries read 6.1 except 2 of them read 5.8. It starts out %100 after about 2 minutes into the ride the digital meter goes to %0 while loaded. Any help would be appreciated

Re: Batteries drain quick
The 6.1 batteries are at about 50% and 5.8 is a dead battery
These guys are gonna need to know what drive system you have to be able to help you You’re gonna need to make sure all your connections are clean and solid The two 5.8 batteries are more than likely being used to power some 12V accessory Start by charging your pack fully and you may have to charge the two dead ones individually to catch them back up. Make sure the water in the batteries covers the plates but don’t top the water off until you have them fully charged Don’t be running the cart until you hear from these guys or you may do some expensive damage |

Re: Batteries drain quick
Your pack will be fully charged when each battery is at @6.3 after having rested 12 hours after having finished charging
They’re gonna need to be fully charged to get reliable diagnostic results |

Re: Batteries drain quick
Gotcha, all accessories are run off of a separate battery that’s not included in the pack.

Re: Batteries drain quick
Include your model of charger that you are using as well.
"Smoking hot" wires may indicate your battery cables are to small for the job. What kind\brand of batteries did you buy? I am assuming your running a 36V setup. |

Re: Batteries drain quick
Yes I’m using a Lester’s Sumit II charger, the cart is a 08 PDS. I ended up buying a set of recon batteries [emoji2357].
