I hope this 6V / 12V load tester helps me
I got one of these today and I hope it will be a useful tool. I have a 4 X 12V and will purchase my 6 X 6V set this week.
I'm going to read the rest of the manual. |

Return it - you have a better tester in the cart itself. Put a meter on a battery and head hard uphill. No hill? Ride the brakes and go, what's the lowest voltage you see on that battery? Then go to the next one.

Re: I hope this 6V / 12V load tester helps me
Mixed opinions I guess. I have the same one. It is basic and you can’t use it for long periods because it heats up – but it gets the job done. I’ve had it for a few years.
I do agree that the cart is a battery load tester, but if you have a non running cart in the shop, sometimes a tool like that can be handy. |

Yep they are only good for spotting Very weak & totally effed batteries, as far as golf cart batteries go (which is still useful). It just can't stay on long enough to give useful data as far as actual battery capacity in golf cart uses.
I use these testers at work, but mainly starting batteries, or for spotting a prospective "good used" to test (it's best use in these terms is to "weed out" the ones you obviously don't want to bother with). |
