Default Windshield Rattling

My fold down windshield on my CC Precendent sqeaks and rattles when I drive. I don't know if there is something else going on in addition to this. But I attached a picture but it is the type that just sits on top on the screw / grommet. I have seen the kind that have a slot or hole in them and feel like this may be a better solution, has anyone had any luck with drilling a hole through this to help secure more? Also the windshield slides around very easily in the channel bracket, is there something I can add in there to help this from sliding or should I just get new brackets? Any thoughts or insight would be appreciated.

I use the rubber bumpers on mine, behind the glass wear it touches the frame rails.

There is something odd about your second photo. The slot that the grommet goes into should be narrow so that the grommet is a tight fit on both sides as shown here on my windscreen.

I just replaced my screen so that first shot is from my old screen and the second photo is the new screen fitted.

I put strips of velcro on the windshield before installing them into the channels and installing them onto the frame.

I took off my windshield the other day and polished both sides with a plastic polish. It looked great but when I took it for a drive, it was squeaking and making a lot of noise. I found out it was very slightly moving inside the plastic channels that clip onto the windshield frame.

Last night I took it apart and put some silicone grease on both sides of the windshield where it touches the channels. Nice and quiet now.

I had the same, annoying noises coming from my newly installed windshield. I removed it and placed some Command Strip velcro strips along the the edge of the windshield and also inside the channels that attach to the frame. Zero noise since!!!!!!!!!

Now I just notice all the other squeaks & rattles :(
