Default 4 lug VS 5 lug wheels

So i was shopping for my new wheels a while ago, and i was about to buy them and i saw another set for $50 cheaper. "cool" i though and bought them without much of a thought. They came in a while ago, i went just now to start swapping them out, apparently my cheaper wheels are 4 lug, i needed 5!

do they make some sort of 5 to 4 lug adapters or is that just wishful thinking?

So they do make them.. too expensive though...

Thoughts on drilling out a new pattern on the rims?

Unless you are going to drill them out on a lathe.

my thought was to make a wood template

mount some ply into the rim, wedge it in tight, drill the pattern, move the template to the new rims, wedged in tight (identical inside diameter) and drill.

just thinking outloud

Don't do it. You will not be precise enough and the wheels will hop. Sounds like you would be better off exchanging them
