Default Powerwise charger board keeps going

I replaced the board in my powerwise charger back in March and it was working fine until the other day. I had to take it off the cart before it was quite done charging and now it won't work again. I jumped the 2 wires and it started right up so I ordered another board. Anyone have any idea why it went out so soon? TYI

If the problem is the charger not turning on, cleaning the outside of the negative terminal in the cart's charge receptacle and the auxiliary contact in the D plug might fix it.

Attached is an image showing the aux contact touching the negative terminal when charge is plugged into cart.

Thank you I will try that. But if that were the problem wouldn't it still hum when plugged in not hooked up to the cart? When I connect the two wires together on the board and plug it in it starts humming, but not when those wires are plugged into the board.

Those two wire you connected came off that black relay on the board, right? If the posts in the charger socket aren’t making good contact the relay may not be getting power.

Ok, haven't been able to clean the post yet. But back to the question, wouldn't it still hum when plugged in?

No, that's what I'm saying. If the relay doesn't get powered it can't send power onto the transformer -which is the part that hums.

The relay on the control board connects the AC power to the transformer and that is what makes it hum. To get that relay to close its contacts and connect AC power to the transformer, the control board has to sense that the cart's battery pack is above about 30V. It is actually the cart's battery pack that energizes the relay initially.

In a nutshell, the control board is semi-smart on/off switch. It turns the charger on when it senses about 30V on the red and black wires connected to it and shuts the charger off when the sensed voltage climbs to 45V +/-1V, or in about 16 hours if the on-charge voltage fails to climb that high in the allotted time period.

Here is a schematic with the battery sense wires to the control board highlighted and a manual.
