Default Weird looking wrench

So today I went out to recharge the batteries in the golf cart and I noticed I left the ranch on top of one of the batteries this is what it looks like.

Was it touching the posts or just sitting on the plastic?

Looks like it just corroded from being exposed to battery acid. If it wasn’t bridged across the posts then it wouldn’t affect the battery at all, but that ranch is toast.

It’s strange that the pack was still at 50.9 it’s been probably six weeks since I put it in the trailer and it’s not heated in Pennsylvania cold. I recharged it anyway.
