Anybody in the Tallahassee area?
Good afternoon everybody. Would there happen to be anyone in the Tallahassee, Florida area that could share some golf cart knowledge.
I have 98 club car that I bought couple years ago that setup as a hunting buggy. Anyway I'm pretty sure I have stripped axle or broken axle. Just look for some advise and knowledge. Thanks |

Why do you think the axle is broken?

Re: Anybody in the Tallahassee area?
Its been slipping really bad, and make a terrible noise. Axles are good, I just pulled them.
Now I just drained the rear end and 3 5mm x 10mm hex head bolts fell out. |

Re: Anybody in the Tallahassee area?
I just took my 94 club car ds rear Differential apart so I can weld it up and make it posi traction. I have pics of the inside if you need to see them. But I have no idea how anything in there can slip unless its teeth broke off. Its tight in there with no wiggle room for slipping.

Re: Anybody in the Tallahassee area?
put a volt meter on the pack and read how far it drops when its "slipping"....
might be low voltage aka "electrical slippage " and not in the rear end but in the solenoid .... |

It was the rear end. 5 bolts that hold one of the gears that goes the axle had back out. I got it all back together. Just need to put the motor back on today and I'll test it out.

Re: Anybody in the Tallahassee area?
pretty rare for anything to come off those rear ends , even when your trying .... maybe was taken apart right before you got it , but the "terrible noise" should mean that something got chewed up ... oil should have been nasty and metal shavings abound i would think...

Re: Anybody in the Tallahassee area?
yeah, there were shavings. After testing this morning it did the same thing. Open it all back up to further investigate. Lots of broken parts in the inner part.
Now I need to figure out the next step. Rebuild or new or used. |

I've had the cart for about 3 years, so its really not new to me. I know the business that build it, but there service is pretty crappy.
