NBew to Carts, have questions
Hi, I'm new to carts. My wife got a cart her dad had traded for before his passing. It is a 1997 EZGO 36 volt. It was rumored to work. It came with no batteries and had been sitting for a couple of years. After a couple of more years I just put new batteries in it to see if I can get it going for her and the grands to enjoy/tear up. I have the batteries in and cannot get the solenoid to click or anything else to happen. I have checked the reed switch, it has been bypassed. Since its been sitting I guess anything could be then problem. Can anyone point me in the right direction to test some things see where I need to be going/ I don't want to throw $$ at this to get it moving. Thanks !

Re: NBew to Carts, have questions
I don't know what drive system you've got, but look through the stickies to find a wiring diagram that seems to match your cart:
https://buggiesgonewild.com/showthread.php?t=927 Then go at it with a volt meter to see where you're losing the 36V (+) on the solenoid activation side, including but not limited to: Ignition key switch, pedal switch (in box under the floor), shifter micro switches and some wiring plugs in between. |
