High pitched whine after washing ?
I washed all my batteries down today at the carwash and, after getting the cart home I noticed there was a high pitched while coming from the cart somewhere?
I didn't drive the cart off the trailer and I used the compressor to blow everything dry. It sounds like the reverse alarm...just not as loud. I used WD 40 on the connections adn even took the cover off the controller to check and see if any water seeped in...NADA, dry as a bone? I also took the inspecion cover off and dried all the connections and the motor off with the air. I left it sitting in the shop tonight while I went to work so, when I get home either my batteries will all be dead or??? Any ideas folks? P.S. 98 EGO DCS <P.O.S.> Kev |

The reverse buzzer got wet.....
I prefer a garden hose to the pressure wash. The pressure wash sprays that acid laced water everywhere. And water gets where it shouldn't be |

Re: High pitched whine after washing ?
Well,
It was nasty dirty anyway. I ended up using 2 cans of that stuff and after the second app, I used a bunch more to clean all the overspray from the rest of the inside of the battery box. Once I got it home and off the trailer, I ended up taking all the parts off (bag holders, sand bottle...what's that thing for anyway...and the cooler. I got it pretty clean in there now. But alas, when I went out there this morning there was acid leaing out of the tops of some of the batteries again??? What's weird is that they are not over full and I didn't have it on the charger. I guess they are just really bad. It will be interesting when I get my new batteries. I was pretty happy with the speed of the cart when I got it 2 weeks ago, just didn't like how fast the speed went away (like 5 minutes and she started slowing appreciably). I'm looking at controllers from Alltrax. MMT offered a pretty decent price and, can't beat shopping local and having Mike to harrass for intel. I'll keep ya'll posted. Kev |

Re: High pitched whine after washing ?
After reading this - I'm now remembering some issues that bad batteries can have with the DCS electronics? No joke - It's been years, but it had something to do with the resistence and over heating. Does anyone care to refresh my memory?

Re: High pitched whine after washing ?
Mike, what I remember hearing was that weak batteries can take out a DCS controller.

Re: High pitched whine after washing ?
No - I'm being totally serious. Since DCS carts were discontinued 10 years ago, I don't see them enough to recall. But I do remember that there was an issue with them now from resistance from weak batteries. I don't remember everything, but the B- wire would nearly melt from the heat...
