Default Battery Charge Question

I have a 1997 EZ GO that has Pacer batteries. They are stamped K6 they were bought in Jan of 2007. I am losing power quickly. I know they are old. The cart runs for about 10-15 minutes on a full charge. When the cart loses power at the end it starts to shudder as I go up the driveway to recharge. When I do a full charge it only takes about 1-2 hours to fully charge then the power wise shuts down. After a full charge I tested the Spec Gravity and had about a 1.150+ in all cells. With a meter I get 37.3 total and I get 6.25 on 5 batteries and 6.18 on one of them. Am I not getting a full charge or are the batteries done, or what other thoughts. Thanks

Default Re: Battery Charge Question

The SG readings you posted after a full charge are less than 50% which is empty. This is especially bad if the reading was taken within 12 hours of charging as the charging produces falsely high readings which settle to some lower more realistic (true) readings within about 12hours ...... It is likely your batteries are TOAST

To see if your charger is shtting off early, you need to check battery voltage while the charger is on and after it has run for awhile. Take individual readings and post them.
