Disc Brake Issue

I have an '89 DS with 3" Jakes Lift and Jakes Disc Brake kit.

Tonight, I replaced the front spring with an HD one and when I went to test the cart after finishing the swap I had an issue with the brakes making the cart pull to the left when I hit the brake pedal. When I apply the brakes hard, the steering wheel turns on its own and the front wheels turn left.

I made sure to torque down everything and I'm scratching my head at what could be causing this.

Have any of you heard of this issue before?

Almost sounds like your right disk brake is failing?

I wondered that too. The kit was recently put on the cart and it hasn't been used much. I checked the discs on both sides and they were hot.

I would try bleeding the brakes, both of them, since the Master Cylinder port is shared for both left and right. Could be air in them both, possible more in right line and thus you are feeling it pull.

When you replaced the HD spring, did you replace the bushings too? I am skeptical that this would affect you now, and it not have been noticable with your previous front spring, but it is worth looking at.

I did replace the bushings. I'm really scratching my head because I didn't have this issue before I replaced the spring.

The only thing remaining would be to check alignment, I have heard that this can result in front end pulling. Do you have any camber issues or severe toe in/out?

Don't appear to have camber issues or severe toe in/out.

I'm going to call Jake's today and see if they have any input on this.

Wasn't able to get away from work to call Jake's, but as I was going down the list of things I did to the cart when I was working on it last night, I remembered that I tightened the nut on each spindle when I was checking the hubs to add grease.

My theory is that the nut on one of the spindles must be tighter than the other. Will need to put the front end up in the air and check them out. Was paranoid when I could move each nut by hand, so I may have over tightened.
