Re: Lookin for speed options...check this!!
Convert to 48v, Alltrax AXE4845 controller, send your motor to PlumQuick, add big cables, HD solenoid, HD F/R switch cam, HOLD ON!
I did all this and my cart runs 24mph on regular diameter street tires. Climbs hills like a Jeep. |

Re: Lookin for speed options...check this!!
Well we don't know what motor you have... but
You need a 4 or 500 amp controller and matched solenoid and cables and upgraded F&R. It really isn't cheap to do it right. Do just part or try the cheapest stuff you can find and you probably won't get the speed you are looking for. Speed isn't cheap. But it doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg either. I have some stuff that would work. |

Re: Lookin for speed options...check this!!
Thanks scotty. Yeh that's the motor I have. so there's no possible set up to hit the 20's with a 36volt. I like what gornoman said bout the 48volt set up but a whole new battery change plus all those goodies will be my tax income and some...anybody good at guessin lottery numbers???

Re: Lookin for speed options...check this!!
the only real cost for the 48v set up is batteries. you will need the other items anyway if you want more power. you can get a 480 amp controller good for either 36 or 48 volts for about $300-350. you will need a heavy duty solenoid- about $65, a hd fnr switch for abou $120 or less if the only replace the buss bars. next a good set of 4ga. cables, again about $120 or build your own for less.
the last thing would be the motor. as already said, do these first, whether with 36 or 48 volts. good luck |

Re: Lookin for speed options...check this!!
I got a 4hp motor, 36v set up with welding cables. The controller was new when I inherited the cart (literally) don't know what it is. I put in a 5" lift and 20" rubber. It consistantly gps's at 18 mph on the flat. I'd like more speed but to get any more I think I need more volts. If you figure out another way please post.
