Default Precedent 12V Batteries

My new cart (new to me, 2006) is getting sluggish and unfort I think that I need new batteries, which I figured I needed when I bought the cart a couple of weeks ago.

My question is, which batteries would you recommend?
Where can I get the best deal? Quality deal?

I'm sure this topic may have been covered before, I searched but couldn't find it, but if someone is familiar of this same thread just direct me to that url.

Thnx.

Many are replacing 12 volt batterys with 6 8 volt batterys as Club Car has dropped them as too short life. range and performance. Conversion kits available from Club Car dealers.

Sufr,

What are you using the cart for? Golfing all day or running around your place? If you don't drive it all day everyday then a conversion is not really needed. There are 2 other companies besides Trojan who make a 12v golf cart battery that are better than the Trojans. US Batteries and Crown Batteries. Google US Batteries and check them out. They have 3 different ones with different capacity. I think the blue one is the top!

Jlmurphy: They are original batteries still the date is 11/06. The guy I bought it from just topped off water with distilled and I think that he overfilled as everytime I park it I see more spillage...

Colbyntx: I just ride around town and my place. I have intentions to put on a lift and big tires and then potentially change to a different motor, (more torque and speed), and new controller...so I want something that will carry me through all of my upgrades.

Thnx everyone.

If its time to upgrade I would go to the (6) 8 volt conversion This should give you the the preformance you are looking for. I purshased my car and 3 mounths later changed batteries and did not know about this web sight. Made the desision on my on.I more than likly would have went for the conversion. I hope this helps and does not cause more confusion.

Anybody else have input?

If I do the conversion, how much is it?

Do you have to change the controller with the conversion, etc.?

Check the previous link for costs via Club Car dealerships.... You're more than welcome to contact me with any questions about the conversion. I've done hundreds of them.

Thanks David.

What all does the conversion replace?

Also, does anyone have any pictures of a converted cart? Pictures of additional batteries stored, etc.?

ALSO: Good info Rib33024...thanks for the reference. That's what I was looking for as well.
