The charger is still on . I forget exactly what time the charger was plugged in last evening, but it was definely before 8 PM. It is 1:30 PM now.... Unless my math is off that is too long.

It is a Powerdrive charger. Which makes me ask if the 16 hour timer is in the OBC or the charger itself?

I assume I should unplug, but curious if there something to be checked first.

Thanks

i don,t know that i have ever seen a charger go bad in a way where it wouldn,t shut off at 16 hours.............now this is just from my experience but everytime i have ran into this it has been the OBC even with old batteries ..............once the OBC was replaced problem solved...............again this is just what i have found but maybe someone knows if in fact the charger will go bad that way...............even with older batteries the charger is going to shut off at some point, it will take longer to charge them but they will charge....................................

I had the same thing happen to me. Charger is not seeing shut off voltage. The cut off is between 56 and 63 volts. What ever your cart majic number should be some where between 56 -63. I found a bad battery. I check sg on each battery and found I had dead cells in one. This kept my voltage below cut off. I replaced the battery and everything is working great.

Is it the OBC's role to shut off the charger after 16 hours?

I had the problem of a charger not switching off and when another charger was plugged in it did switch off, so I replaced the relay in my charger and it then switched off.

Yes the OBC will shut it off after 16 hours. Then when the battery reads low it turns on again this can be a very short time SG. check on the batterys is a very cheap 10$ and effective way to rule this out.

Just walked out to the garage to unplug AC from charger and the son of a gun is off

New batteries coming end of week.

The one remaining question I have is where is this 16 hour timer that shuts the charger off? Is it in the charger or the OBC? My guess is that this charge cycle ran over 20 hours....

Thanks all for putting up with my questions, I appreciate it.

Alan

PS. I reserve the right for that not to be one remaining question
