I seem to remember somewhere here on BGW that the LED charge indicators needed to be installed on a fully charged cart or else they would read whatever voltage was currently available as a full charge regardless of actual voltage?? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I really believe I saw that written somewhere when I installed mine. After having it, I still only trust my multimeter and hydrometer when it comes to the actual condition of any battery.

I think I read that somewhere also...I don't think most of those meters are very accurate. I'm a believer in digital meters...that way you know exactly what you've got.

Google "LED SoC meter"

There are serval flavors of the LED bargraph type SoC meters out there.

Some assume that the battery pack voltage at the moment it is connected to be 100% and can be reset by disconnecting and reconnecting.
Others reset every time the battery reaches 42.3V and stays there or above for six minutes while charging. Or something like that - I can't remember exactly.
Still others do both and some have a fixed calibration.

One reason they have such a bad reputation is some people connect the two wire resettable type to the Key Switch and it resets to whatever the current pack voltage is every time the use the cart, so it will say 100% regardless of what the true SoC is. Same thing happens when one of the three wire types (Curtis/EZGO) is miswired. (IE: Reversed B+ from battery pack and Switched B+ from Key Switch)

This might be why the OP's SoC meter is misbehaving.

If you know what type LED SoC Meter you have and what its capabilities and limitations are, they are okay.

Personally, I prefer the dash mounted DVM Battery voltage meter, but the old analog types are okay for a "Fuel" gauge for a non-technical person.

ScottyB sells a good one, along with a plate so you can mount it with the keyswitch.
