Speaker Question
After looking thru all the threads posted on installing the stereo/speakers
I have a question on installing the speakers (5 1/4) in the access panel directly over the motor, I don't see anyone putting them there, is this not a good idea because of the motor being so close to the speakers or no one has tried putting them there or what ?.......again I am new here and to golf carting so I was just curious. Re: Speaker Question
If you take a good look at the area in question, road debris, water and anything else undesirable can splash up on your speakers if you place them there. I have seen a few that were actually mounted in that location, but usually in some type of weather-proof enclosure. If you were to use marine grade speakers and keep them protected from impacts from rocks and other debris, you could mount them there, but the surface has multiple curves and the speakers mount best on a flat surface, hence the front of the seat mounting for many. For the best sound, I would really look at an overhead console, everything is enclosed, safe from the elements and big enough for a decent set of speakers and just about any stereo unit.
